CALCULATOR GUIDE

How to use the Options Profit Calculator

Compute the expiration profit and break-even price for a purchased call or put option.

Calculation formula

Expiration payoff per share = max(spot − strike, 0) for calls or max(strike − spot, 0) for puts; net P&L = (payoff − premium) × 100 × contracts − fees.

Recommended steps

  1. Enter values using the units shown beside each field.
  2. Review whether the example assumptions match your situation.
  3. Run the calculator and compare the key metrics.
  4. Use the source data or official rates when precision matters.

Known limitations

Long call or long put at expiration, standard 100-share equity contracts. Does not model exercise before expiration, volatility, dividends or assignment.
